It's called cosplay because it's meant to be fun
Join a mature-aged Western Australian cosplayer on a journey of creativity and insanity. I build costumes and props of all shapes and sizes, mostly for myself, occasionally for others, and always for everyone. From regional conventions to charity fundraisers, experience the joy, tears, and pure passion behind every project.
Welcome to the workshop
G'day, I’m Terranous. I’m a Perth-based maker specializing in foamsmithing, a little bit of sewing, plenty of late nights, and the inevitable Con Crunch.
For me, the real magic of cosplay isn't just standing on a stage or posing for a final photo. The real fun is the actual journey of figuring out how to build the thing. This site is my personal archive and a community hub. I’m here to share the real, unvarnished process behind my builds, including the successes, the mistakes, and the practical, everyday problem-solving that goes into bringing favorite characters to life.

01
Armor Fabrication
Turning flat sheets of durable EVA foam into complex, wearable character armor. My focus is always on smart, practical geometry. I want to craft pieces that look striking but remain lightweight and comfortable enough to wear all day on a convention floor.
02
Props & Practical Builds
From oversized swords to giant, walkable suits, I love the challenge of practical design. Whether it’s integrating a simple webcam viewing system into a massive costume or texturing a weapon, it's all about finding clever solutions using everyday materials.

03
Community & Judging
Cosplay thrives when we share what we know. When I’m not working on my own projects, you’ll find me judging the occasional costume contests, speaking on panels, or managing our national community events calendar.
MY Creative Space
The "Kitchen Table" Philosophy
You don't need a million-dollar fabrication lab to make something great. Some of the best cosplay on earth starts with cardboard, tape, and a kitchen table. My workspace is built on practicality, patience, and plenty of floor space for foam scraps.
The Video Setup
No high-tech camera crews here. I capture my crafting journeys using standard webcams and mobile phones right from the desk. It’s raw, it's real, and it shows the build exactly as it happened.
The Gaming & Break Zone
This hobby is for fun, which means taking a breather is mandatory. My workshop desk happily doubles as my gaming zone when the contact cement needs time to dry or the brain needs a quick reset.
